What is Direct Charging?
An initiative of the Reserve Bank of Australia,
Direct Charging intends to give cardholders more
choice and increase the transparency of ATM charges.
It also means that owners of ATMs can charge a fee
to people using their ATM if they are not part of
their network. This fee would also come 'directly'
out of the cardholder's account at the time of the withdrawal.

We’ve made it easy for Defcredit members.
Up until 2 March 2009, you can use any ATM with
a maximum of six transactions per month free of charge.
Due to 'Direct Charging' this is no longer possible.
To make banking with us even easier, we've teamed up
with rediATM, so from 3 March 2009, you can withdraw from
the rediATM network free of charge as often as you like.
