Military Health Outcomes Program
|
All ADF members are being encouraged to take part In the Military Health Outcomes Program (MilHOP).
This research program aims to better inform Defence on the health challenges faced by ADF personnel across the Services and is being run independently by the Centre for Military and Veterans Health (CMVH) to ensure confidentiality of ADF members’ personal information.
One of the most extensive studies ever conducted on the health and well-being of Australian serving and ex-serving personnel, MilHOP will provide Defence with the information it needs to continue to develop appropriate health services for the ADF community in the future.
If you’re an ADF member and haven’t received your invitation to participate or would like more information about MilHOP, log onto the CMVH website at www.cmvh.org.au and follow the MilHOP link. Alternatively you can contact the MilHOP team direct on free call number 1800 886 567 or email milhop@cmvh.org.au

Using your Visa debit card at Woolworths
|
Woolworths Group advise that effective 15 April 2010 they will no longer accept Visa debit card “credit” payments.
Woolworths Group will be turning off the credit (CR) button on their EFTPOS terminals and consumers will now have to press “SAV” or “CHQ” when paying for goods with their VISA debit card.
This change affects all consumers who shop at a Woolworths Group store using a Visa debit card, not only members of Defcredit.
By using “SAV” or “CHQ” your Woolworths purchases will be processed as an EFTPOS transaction rather than a VISA credit payment. As a result of Woolworths action, you may be charged EFTPOS transaction fees. However Defcredit will continue to provide members with six free EFTPOS transactions per month.
The deactivation of the “CR” button for VISA debit cards will occur throughout all stores in the Woolworths Group including:
|
- BIG W
- Woolworths Supermarkets
- Safeway Supermarkets
- Woolworths Liquor
- Safeway Liquor
- BW
- Dan Murphy’s
- Dick Smith
- Tandy
- Woolworths Petrol
- Safeway Petrol
- Caltex Woolworths petrol outlets
- Thomas Dux
- ALH bottle shops

Members should be aware that there is nothing wrong with their Defcredit VISA debit card and pressing “CR” when purchasing goods from all other retailers will continue to work. Members are encouraged to keep using the “CR” option at all other retailers ensuring you continue to receive the benefits of VISA debit, such as fee-free transactions.

Credit Cards
|
Defcredit VISA credit cards are not affected by the Woolworths decision and will continue to operate when selecting the “CR” option at Woolworths Group stores.
